Coastal Bend LNG is advancing through the FERC pre-filing process. Pre-filing allows FERC staff, participating agencies, landowners, community members, and other stakeholders to identify and evaluate potential issues before a formal application is filed.

How the FERC Review Works
FERC is the lead federal agency responsible for reviewing the siting, construction, and operation of LNG export terminals under Section 3 of the Natural Gas Act.
Pre-Filing
The applicant develops environmental information, consults with agencies, engages stakeholders, and submits draft Resource Reports before filing a formal application.
Formal Application
Coastal Bend LNG plans to submit a formal application to FERC under Section 3 of the Natural Gas Act.
Environmental Review
FERC evaluates environmental, safety, technical, and alternative-site information under the National Environmental Policy Act.
Public Comment & Intervention
Members of the public, agencies, landowners, organizations, and other stakeholders may submit comments and participate in the proceeding.
FERC Decision
FERC determines whether to authorize the Project and may impose environmental, safety, construction, and operating conditions.
Other Required Authorizations
The Project must obtain additional federal and state approvals before construction can begin.

Submitting Comments to FERC
Once the Coastal Bend LNG docket number is assigned, members of the public may submit comments directly to FERC through its eComment or eFiling systems.

Enter the Docket Number
Use the Coastal Bend LNG docket number so your comments are filed in the correct proceeding.
Submit Your Comments

Keep the submission confirmation or accession number for your records.
